Billy St. John's D.K. Molar, The Devious Dentist at the Courthouse Whistle Stop in Livingston, TX, on November 2, 3, & 4, 2001 was a tremendous success. The cast was Don Irving, Peggy Woodward, Cindy Ello, Craig Reese, Melba Day, Noreen Crawford.

The Youth Talent Showcase was a fantastic afternoon of entertainment, performed by the talented youth of Polk County, and sponsored by the Piney Woods Players. The program took place on December 16, 2000, at 2 P.M. at the Livingston High School auditorium. Only persons ages 8 through 18 participated, showing off their talent in everything from music to magic; from acting to acrobats; and from humor to humming.
The show was an immediate success, attracting an audience of proud parents, grandparents and friends.

The Piney Woods Players' dinner/musical, Music For You, was rated by many as the best yet. The production was directed by Jim Wright. The very talented cast performed for a packed house at Cho-Yeh Retreat.

Love Letters , a heart-rendering story by A.R. Gurney, starring Patrick Vaughn and Candice Stine was presented at the Livingston High School auditorium on 16 and 17 June 2001. It was directed by Don Manus and Amy Log

Talent On Parade Showcase, was performed October 4, 2001, at the VFW Hall, Livingston, TX. Songs, music, dancing, mime, poems, comedy, magic and much, much more! This was a virtual parade of talent, featuring the talented youth of Polk County (and some older, but extremely talented actors, musicians, etc.) This fantastic variety show was a Piney Woods Players' charitable contribution to SAAFE House.

A reading of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol was performed at the Escapees RV Club's activity center on December 15. The readers were volunteers from the community, which gave an opportunity for anyone to display their theatrical talents. The performance received a standing ovation from the audience.

L.B. Rogerson's melodrama Mischief In the Magnolias, or Weed 'em and Reap was performed as a dinner/melodrama on December 6, 7, 8, & 9 at Cho-Yeh. Starring in this very funny mummer were Arlene Hammersley, Charles Barber, Brianna Straut, Humberto Perez, Dennis Athey, Don Irving, Vanessa Shores, Melanie Machost and Don Irving. Gladys May furnished sound effects and music.

Country Music Memories, a benefit dinner/show was performed on May 2, 2002. The benefit show was for Trinity Lodge 14, AF&AM, that suffered extensive damage to the lodge hall building due to a flooding problem. It featured great Country/Western music star impersonators and highlighted impersonations of Hank Williams, Ernest Tubb, Loretta Lynn, Minnie Pearl, Jim Reeves, Chubby Wise, Willie Nelson, Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton, Will Rogers, and a visit by a very funny lady called Droopy Drawers. Over 400 persons attended.

A Great Comedy

Performed June 20 through 23 at the Livingston High School auditorium.

An outstanding performance was given by all members of the cast, which included Mike Shukan, Lester Harlow, Susie Dunaway, Thom Bruning, Earlene Rainey, Russ Mosier, and Brianna Straut. Directed by Michael Shukan, with the assistance of Lester Harlow, this great play was the Piney Woods Players' hit of the season. Members of the production crew included Don Irving - stage manager, Jay Lee - stage setting, Glen Gallup - lights, Randy & Lynn McLean - Audio & Special Effects.
